"坚持原则" or "死不认错" ?= 12年徒刑
大力水手事件，又稱「柏楊案」。1968年1月2日，《中華日報》家庭版刊出柏楊（本名郭衣洞）翻譯的美國「大力水手」（Popeye the Sailor Man）連環漫畫，故事內容為卜派父子合購一島，遂在島上建立國家，各自競選總統。柏楊將英文的Fellow（伙伴們）譯為「全國軍民同胞們……」，調查局認定該漫畫挑撥政府與人民之間的感情，“侮辱元首”，“打擊國家領導中心”，先後約談柏楊及其妻子倪明華。3月4日柏楊再度被約談後，3月7日被捕，6月移送軍法處起訴，以30年前參加「民主同盟」為由，隨後經情治單位組「華清專案」調查，由軍事檢察官以叛亂罪唯一死刑起訴，最後判處12年徒刑。

社會總會進步的, 地球上起碼現在有比以前更多的地方不會再有翻譯因言獲罪的事情發生了.
這幅相記得我之前貼過上來, 可忘記了是哪個話題, 自己也找不到.

我對我的英文能力是不滿得很，所以很想嘲弄一下短短幾句裏要用好幾次 some 的自己。不過 some 來 some 去好像也頗能滿足我有時喜歡挖苦世間現象的小小心眼。
你的英文修辭功力我一直覺得很佩服，不知道我那些很初階的 some 能不能有其他精準的字眼來代換？敬請指導一番，感謝感謝～～～

I would say "some" is "some". Don't worry about using it too often.
But sometimes you can use "a few" or "certain" for a little variety, such as "a few people", "a certain few of us", etc.
Also you can avoid being repetitive by not referring directly to the people in question. For example, you can say "a certain mentality", "a particular opinion", "a common misconception", etc.
Please let me know if I didn't answer the right question.
