Hi there,
I can't install Across with the above mentioned configuration.
I have enabled the use of .NET 3.5 in the Programs and Features, I restarted the computer several times, but when I get to the point, that SQL should be installed, it says after a long-long process, that SQL hasn't been installed and there is no explanation, no error code, no anything helpful, I just get back to the window, where I only can Cancel or click Next to install SQL (which then again leads to th... Can ANYONE give me any helpful answer on this, please? Thank you, ▲ Collapse | | | Firewall and Antivirus? | Nov 25, 2013 |

Have you deactivated your firewall and antivirus during the installation?
The same happened to me and solved when I deactivated my antivirus and firewall. | | | Hajnalka Kis Италия Local time: 07:33 Член ProZ.com c 2009 немецкий => венгерский + ... Автор темы turned off firewall and antivirus | Nov 26, 2013 |
Hi Ali,
thank you for taking time for me.
I turned off the above mentioned security programs, restarted my computer and still nothing. The installation of SQL still does not work. By the way, in the across documentation it seems, that one also could choose an already installed SQL to work with Across. Does that mean, that if I manage to install SQL separately, I could install Across as well? Could SQL be the main problem? | | | I have no information | Nov 26, 2013 |

Sorry to hear that it didn't help.
I have never installed Across with pre-installed SQL, so I cant say anything about that.
I think somebody from Across will help you to fix it.
Good luck. | |

Yes, you can do so. Don't forget password you set for "sa" user, Across will ask for it during configuration.
And yes, according to your description exactly installation of SQL express produces problems. | | | Hajnalka Kis Италия Local time: 07:33 Член ProZ.com c 2009 немецкий => венгерский + ... Автор темы installing Across 5.7 on Windows 8.1 with Office 2013 | Nov 26, 2013 |
I did it. Still can't believe, I had tried it so many times and it just kept telling me that the SQL Server hasn't been installed.
But then, Across has finally sent me a message.
The key is - as I already supposed and AAV kindly confirmed - was the installation of SQL 2008 server.
What I did:
1. I disinstalled every bit of existing SQL pieces

3. I downloaded SQL server express
4. turned off firewall, antivirus and checked for user account control
5. ran the setup file as admin (right click and "Run as administrator")
6. I followed Across instructions during the installation (I am not posting it here, since I don't know about rights, but I am happy to help, if anyone needs help)
7. Started Across and finally the start was without problems
Thank you to all of you!!
