I have accepted / confirmed a project in Across, and I can work on a part of the project files just fine.
For other project files in the same batch I get the same screen, in CrossView the sentences show up as 'untouched' but the translation area is greyed out.
Can't do anything at all.
I can't find anything wrong with the files otherwise, the client of course isn't available on the weekend and I should be delivering these files Monday COB.

you received files of a project that has been finalised. Then it's all greyed and read only. It's not your fault, you should get an extension.

Thank you for you answer, but if the project was finalized, I would or should have problems with all files. If they are finalized you usually get the message that the file will be opened in read only mode. That's not happening at all .... so I think it's something else, but what? There seems no logic to it.

should be translated, MS Word or what exactly? Maybe the file versions are different, a required font is missing. - Are parts of a file showing this symptom? Or are there entire files that show this symptom?

The project was split in a number of 'sub' projects. It seems to be one project where part of the files aren't all ok.
I can open and work on - and finish - part of the files.
Other files I can open, but without any message, they open in a sort of 'read only' mode. I get all the screens, but the toolbar between the source and target parts is greyed out. I can change the status of the translatables, but I can't add any text to them.

I do not have an answer (and I know quite a bit about Across). Maybe part of the files or an entire file is write protected. - I suggest to contact Across support, they are usually quite quick. However, it won't help you now. I assume that you should get an extension, since this is not your fault. I let you know if I find an answer.
