could anyone advice me on whether there is a way to view all the entries you have in crossTerm so that you can manage/review them easily? E.g. to amend any possible redundancies or so?

I know that you can view all the crossTerm entries in crossTerm manager on the left side of the screen in your search pane, and then scroll down so that you can view the individual entries one by one in the bigger window next to the search pane. There you can edit the entries if you wish.
However, I was wondering whether it is possible to view all the entries with their translation at once. What I am referring to is a layout you can get in e.g. Excel-based glossaries. I am not saying that such layout is better. I was just wondering whether Across gives a similar an option.
Do you know?
Thank you,

Martina,
you can export CrossTerm as CSV file and then open the exported file in Excel.

Thank you, Uwe,
that is an excellent idea. Very helpful, as usual. Why only did I not think of that:-)
It makes a lot of sense.

That is why I put the post up here since I want to identify where the problem with the alignment might lie. Knowing that you did not experience anything similar helps a lot. I'll be looking into this with my tutor in more details, however, should you have any suggestions, I will most gladly welcome them.
Thank you! I am really glad you are in this forum!!! ▲ Collapse | | | Uwe Schwenk (X) Local time: 00:46 английский => немецкий

I really appreciate it. It really is very nice of you. I was hoping to sent support request to Across about this but then I am not sure under what topic I should file the request. I file it as functionality issue. In regards to zip there are some freeware programs out there allowing to zip up files.
Examples: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/
However, you can also download WinZip from http://www.winzip.com/index.htm and try it before you buy, and its not very expensive.
Finally, you can send from your email to [email protected].

Hi Martina,
You can quickly send the files to me if you want and I could have a look at it. It is probably just a settings issue for the Alignment.

SOS. A client sent me a glossary in an excel file, is it possible to import it directly into cross term? Is there a work around for this? I am quite new to this software and could not find the solution in the manual. Could any one please help me on this? Thank you in advance.

You have to save the file in CSV format.
Afterwards switch to the CrossTerm Manager and select the import Terms option, and make the releavtn settings in the Wiyard to import the file.

I am using Excel 2007. The glossary file has two columns A has the source and B has the target. I converted it into CSV and ran the import on across. Do I have to alter the original file ? Thanks again Uwe.

Umang,
if the characters display correctly in Excel, there is one more thing you can try before contacting support:
1. Delete the current terms in CrossTerm.
2. Open the Excel File and highlight source and target languages.
3. Switch the font to Arial Unicode.
4. Save the Excel file again as CSV.
5. Repeat the import.
If that does not work, I would recommend to contact support with this one.
