I can't find an option 'to squash a question'. It used to be, I remember it clearly (I used it).

a nitpick: probably "quash" Feb 20, 2007

The phrase should probably be "quash a question" on the basis of the legal phrase "motion to quash a subpoena" as for example here:

The two words often get used interchangeably, but "quash" is, strictly speaking, the proper term here.

There is sometimes confusion because of their similarity and also because of the relative uncommonness of "quash."
