I'm preparing for the ATA exam, and interested in mainly improving faithfulness and terminology/word choice. Do you think this course would help me?

Usefulness for ATA exam

Hi gud_annet. The course talks about the structure and phrasing of scientific and technical texts, but also gives advice on terminology searches and sources. Not sure how that would help in an exam situation, although it also explains how to understand different kinds of medical terminology.

Is the course intended only for translators working into English or can this be also useful for professionals who work from English into other languages?

Hi Pierluigi. The course is given in English, and so are the examples it uses. The basic principles can be applied to translation between other languages (e.g. layout, terminology searches, questions for the client etc.), though translators who work with English will find it more immediately applicable. As for translating from EN to other languages, yes, this webinar will be useful for translators working from or into English.
