15 years of translating/interpreting in various fields, including:

1 year on-site interpreter at a Kyrgyz-Canadian gold mine project (1995).
15 years of ongoing translation/interpretation for an international group of researchers studying the Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan.
1 year in-house translator for Kygyztelecom (national operator) during the implementation of a World Bank-funded project on installation of a countrywide digital telecom system (1997).
Several years of both freelancing and full-time work on various projects by international agencies (UNDP, UNFPA, UNIFEM, World Bank, OSCE, etc.) in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, in such areas as:
- microfinance and poverty alleviation,
- non-governmental organizations,
- gender studies,
- traditional arts and handicrafts,
- prevention of drug trafficking and organized crime,
- population and demography,
- elections and political parties,
- TV journalism,
- and many more.

In 2004-07, I worked as a foreign liaison officer in "Perspektiva" Center for Policy Studies, translating on a broad range of topics, including foreign and domestic policy, political parties and legislation, macroeconomics, public relations, etc. Interpreting at high-level meetings, for heads of state and other dignitaries.

Over the last few years, I make most of my bread from translating/interpreting for various geology, mining and oil-&-gas companies (operators and consultants) in Russia and Kazakhstan.
