Born in Germany and brought up in Austria. Studied at the Universities of Vienna (Russian, English and French) and at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Germany (Ancient and Modern Greek). Practice: 2 years as freelance translator for the industrial sector, 5 years in-house translator for a relief agency of the UNHCR, 10 years as in-house translator of a UN-affiliated research institute in Austria, simultaneously editor of the institute´s multi-lingual newsletter; As a result of frequent stays in Greece and intensive contacts with Greek lawyers, I published a German-Greek manual for translators and sworn interpreters at court (2006). In the years to follow I acquired a certain fluency in Spanish. After specializing in medical translations, I set out to compile a hermeneutical glossary on medical terminology in the languages German-Latin-modern Greek to be published in 2015 and re-published in 2017 as a revised and extended edition. Simultaneously,  I deepened my knowledge of the Croatian language thus being able to increase the number of my Slavic languages by three additional ones: Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian.
