My main duties as a Chief Translator, Kumtor Operating Company, were to produce technical translations of Mining, Geological, Metallurgical, Engineering, as well as Legal and Financial documents in English and Russian.My duties also included teaching of translation skills, Advanced and Technical English, for the newly employed translators.I acted as PA and Translator for the Human Resources V.P. and the Canadian Operations V.P. during Board Meetings, Trade Union Negotiations, Investigations, Safety Audits, general administration, disciplinary hearings and welfare problems etc.
As a supervisor of the Administration Translation department I was responsible for proofreading and final editing of translation projects, I also assigned the work projects to the members of the group and maintained control of their timely and qualified completion.
