If you have been looking for a translator on this site or similar corners of the Web, you have probably come across dozens of trivial claims such as the common but unlikely "better than the original", or the omnipresent but even more incredible "cheap and high quality"*. I am not going to bore you with such stuff here, just present the hard facts about my background and offer:

BACKGROUND

● Native Norwegian speaker, degrees in languages and economics from top-ranked Norwegian universities
● Translating (and proz member) since 2002, running own business since 2005, sworn since 2010
● Translator and editor of business textbooks for Norwegian publishers
● C1/C2 state languages exams and long stays in the countries of all my source languages

● Advanced certification in Trados Workbench and Trados Studio, Trados beta tester and trainer, broad experience with other software tools

SPECIALIZATIONS

Investment funds (UCITS): This is my main area. I provide a one-stop-shop for investment funds wanting to market their shares in Norway, translating all the required documents: (Semi-)annual reports, simplified/full prospects, Key Investor Documents. Thanks to extensive experience not only with share funds, but also with bond funds and hedge funds, I do understand sophisticated instruments such as derivatives, options and convertible notes, and I am able to convey technical nuances into fully understandable Norwegian.
Business documents: In 2010 I passed the Government Authorization exam from English to Norwegian - the highest Norwegian qualification for written translation of specialized texts (economic, administrative, legal and mercantile). I specialize in contracts, insurance, taxation, articles of incorporation, due diligence, accounting and real estate.
Management: I have translated/edited the following books about management:

IT/Internet: Drawing upon my combined background in business and IT, I have been responsible for several web sites related to payment solutions and stock/currency trading.
Other: I don't accept assignments in most other field. However, being a member of three Norwegian translator associations (STF, NFF and Norfag), I have a large contact network. For most assignments I will be able to recommend a reliable expert that is cheaper than a Norwegian agency.

PRICES

I do not try to offer the lowest price, but I provide publishing ready translations (that include Government Authorization and editing by an external Norwegian colleague) at a quality similar to the one you get from the best Norwegian agencies, but at a considerably lower price. This is possible since I work from home and avoid high administration costs. Are you are unsure whether your current translation provider is giving you enough value for money? * If you are writing such trivialities on your site/profile, please consider the following: In order for a business statement to be valuable, it needs to have a logical opposite alternative. "Better than the original" and "cheap and high quality" does not say anything about the road you chose NOT to take:

"Better than the original" - OK, so this means your strategy is not to provide a translation that is worse than the original?

"Cheap and high quality" - OK, so this means you are not aiming at being expensive and at the same time providing low quality?

These statements are trivial because their are obvious - they don't provide me as a potential colloborator with any information of value.
