I am an economics graduate with twenty years’ experience in translation and interpreting, and a long history of collaboration with the European Commission. While specialised in EU matters, I have always been keen to explore new subjects in order to translate with sufficient understanding anything from Accounting Act and autoclaves to zoonoses.
I have extensive experience translating economic and legal documents, acquired in the course of my work for Coopers&Lybrand (later PricewaterhouseCoopers) and during my work for the European Commission. I also translated subtitles of more than 60 Russian films into English.
While English is not strictly speaking my native language, as Polish is, I feel confident in describing my English as native, having now lived outside Poland longer than I lived in Poland, and having often used English in my translations from and into languages other than Polish. In addition, my Irish husband acts as my ‘second pair of eyes’, reviewing all my final translations.
Language combinations: I work with are Polish-English, English-Polish (translating and interpreting), French-Polish, Polish-French (translating and interpreting), and Russian-Polish, Russian-English, Russian-French (translating and interpreting).
As regards CAT tools, I use Trados SDL Studio 15, which is the latest version.
