Bachelor of Science - University of Pune - 1966 - Geology (Major), Physics, Chemistry
Master of Science - Peoples' Friendship University, Moscow - 1971 - Prospecting and Exploration of Oil and Gas. Medium of instruction was Russian and hence quite fluent in the Russian language.
The Masters Degree course included 1 year's intensive Russian language course at the Preparatory Faculty of the University.

c) Correspondence between a Russian private company and a Russian company based in USA on oil and gas exploration- 55 pages
d) Translated 500 page book on "Exploration of gold deposits in Laos"

I also specialize in translation of Chemistry patents.
I am on the panel of translators of a Government Organization in Pune, India for last several years. I translate Chemistry patents for them on regular basis.

I also worked for 3 years as an Abstractor for “Chemical Abstracts Service” a division of American Chemical Society in the Russian > English pair.

In the technical field – Engineering (In House) I worked as an Interpreter for a few Engineering companies in Pune:
I worked for 3 ½ months as an interpreter to a Russian engineer in INOX- a Mumbai based company, during installation of their oxygen manufacturing plant.
I worked as an interpreter for 2 months in M/S Bharat Forge during installation of a Russian forging plant.
On 3-4 occasions I worked as an interpreter for M/S Thermax with Russian engineers during their plant visits to boilers and chillers.
I also worked as an interpreter for M/S Nichrome who manufacture various liquid packaging machinery.
I also worked for Maharashtra Technical Consultancy Services for translation of their number of technical documents.

In other Foreign languages:

For Government organization: I have got translated number of chemistry patents in to English from many European languages such as: Finnish, German, French, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, Czech, Romanian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean due to internet connections who are native speakers of these languages.

For a large Automobile manufacturing plant (In House) in Pune
I am on their panel for last 2-3 years.
I have translated for the above company Russian manual
(more than 200 pages ) in to English.
I have got translated for the above plant a car manual (70 pages) from Romanian to English.
I also got translated 220 page document of standards from Korean to English.
I also got translated many standards from Chinese, Japanese languages.
On 3-4 occasions I worked as an interpreter for Russian Engineers who visited their automobile manufacturing plant.

For Packaging equipment manufacturing plant in Pune:
I have translated company brochures and slides in power point presentation.

Pharmaceutical Industry:
I worked for 2 years continuously for a private company in Mumbai in translation of number of articles related to tablet manufacturing from Russian to English.

A summary of projects follows:

Books:
Translated an exhaustive 160-page (80,000 words) book on Aids Counseling from English into Hindi for Tata Institute of Social Sciences. This was a guide book for telephone counselors. The book has been printed in Hindi and is in use at various centers all over India.
Translated a book for Hong Kong Govt. from English to Hindi – for fresh arrivals into Hong Kong, the book pertained to immigration rules. This was a 235 page book.
Translated 200 page manual of Larsen & Toubro John Deere on tractors from English to Hindi. These manuals gave details of repairs of tractors in case of break down. The same manual was translated into other Indian languages; this was done by native speakers (Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu).

Linguistic Validation and Cognitive Debriefing (for Pharmaceutical Companies):
I have undertaken Linguistic Validation projects for a renowned French Research Institute. This work entailed two forward translations and choosing the most suitable words from the two forward translations files to make a third file which would then be back translated to see if it matches the original English version. I have also undertaken Back Translation jobs and Cognitive Debriefing work. I have worked with Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Kannada for Linguistic Validation. I am currently handling similar projects for two more American companies.

Leaflets and Brochures:
• Translated a number of leaflets for agriculture sector from Marathi to Hindi and coordinated translations into Gujarati, Kannada, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu and Punjabi by native translators. These leaflets educated farmers about various varieties of seeds and gave them guidance on when and how to sow seeds, how to water the fields, and how to take care of the growing plants. The leaflets advised farmers about how to procure better yield by taking care of the crop through correct use of fertilizers and protecting crops by using specific insecticides.

• Translated brochures and property leaflets for a property in Hong Kong from English into Hindi for a Hong Kong based company. It was a big project where estate owners had done a lot of advertising for sale of this property.
• Investment Banks related advertising brochures and leaflets.

Translation of Strings:
Translated HR Department related strings for three major US Companies from English into Marathi and Hindi. The clients were large multi-national corporations. Company appraisal strings for 2 large companies were undertaken. In this project, remarks from the workers of these companies were called for, which would help in improving the productivity of these companies.

Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificates:
For more than seven years I have been translating birth certificates and marriage certificates for a translation agency in US. The translation is cross-checked and attested by lawyers.

Web Site Translation:
Translated a web site into Hindi for Max Facilitations. Dr. Max Shupbach, owning the site is working in the field of human relationships and advises some of the top fortune 500 companies.

Film Scripts:
I am currently working on translation of a film script – A Canadian film maker is making spiritual animated films for children and we are translating them into Hindi. The films will be simultaneously released all over the world.

Corporate Presentations:
Translated a presentation of HDFC, a very large private bank in India, from English to Hindi for launching their new financial services product.
