International payment to Russian-based translators

Hi. I'm writing this because I'd like to start collaborating with a Moscow-based translator, but am wondering how would be best to arrange payment for him as Paypal is not an option, and I suspect electronic bank transfer fees would add up. Any Russian-based translators out there with suggestions? And how do freelancers in Russia or Ukraine usually get paid for work received through Proz?
Thanks in advance

Moneybookers and bank transfer

Also, on rare occasions I ask a friend in the US to accept a check for me.

Why doesn't Paypal work?

I get paid from Russian companies through Paypal. You can also ask if the translator has moneybookers or something like that.

Several options
Apr 14, 2011
1) SWIFT transfer (the fee for a transfer from the US is about 5-8 USD for 200 USD).
2) Moneybookers (still, it seems to me that for the US it is not an option)
3) Western Union, MoneyGram, etc. (but the fee is rather high, approx. 10%)
The first option is the best one, in my opinion.
