Received this news with dismay. Heaven help us all now that the not-broken Skype will surely soon be "fixed" with the shiny yet unsolicited lockstep updates and generally useless bells and whistles Mr Gates and his crew are so fond of.

Yes. I'm already looking out for a successor to skype. I'm someone who still uses Office 2000. Works quite well. Not as well as Office 97, but better than all the subsequent editions.
