I have always worked with Trados but now I`m trying with Star Transit. I know therer is a way to import the Translation Memory from Trados, but I don't know how. Can anybody tell me, please?

The memory concept of Transit is different from other tools. Perhaps for the most elaborate versions of Transit their could be a way, but not for Satellite.
There is an own forum for Transit.

AFIK, Transit does support TMX, at least theoretically. Haven't tried it myself though. Since you have both Trados and Transit, you might give it a try and tell us how it worked.

I used Transit for a few weeks only but as far as I can remember, you would need to export the TM as a TMX then use either the file or the folder as a reference when you create the project in Transit.

Hi Fabienne,
This conversion is only possible if you have the full version of Transit. Satellite (the free version with greatly reduced functionalities) cannot do this.
I now assume you have Transit Smart or Transit Professional:
1) Set up your translation project in Transit
2) Export the Trados TM as a TMX (version 1.4) using Workbench
3) In Transit: Import the TMX (under Project > TMX import) - navigate to the TMX file using the button on the... See more Hi Fabienne,

The imported files are saved within the current project or under C:/Programs/Transit/Projects. The imported files are a language pair (in your case *.DEU and *.ESP).
4) Open the target language import file (e.g. DEU if you are translating into German) under File > Open > Language Pair and mark all segments (cursor in first segment, then shift+ctrl+end) and change their status to "checked 2" (Edit > Segment Status) - this avoids problems with fuzzy matches not being recognised.
5) Add the imported files as reference material to your project (Project > Settings > Reference material).
6) Save the project (Project > Save)
7) Start translating!

if you find 5 minutes for me as well....
i do have the same problem - i did as you wrote here but when i open my translation there is nothing translated even though i have "imported" tmx file.
i did the following:
1. set up my translation project EN > DE
2. imported my tmx file - the pop up window asks actually for two entries: "TMX-Datei für Import" and "Erstelle Sprachdatei". i chose only the first one and left the second one blank
3. then imported my word document via Project > import
4. when i click on "Sprachpaar öffnen" the languages do open but i there is nothing pretranslated
AND
when i go to the source window and click on concordance the concordance window opens
but the german target units contains english entries. I am totally confued!!!
what do i do wrong?
i would be grateful for any hint

Looks like you forgot to do the #5 Add the imported files as reference material to your project (Project > Settings > Reference material).
