According to the terms and conditions on their website the resp tariff is called "Best-Effort naked DSL Residential Line ‘up to’ 16384/3072".
This means download from 8192 to 16384 and upload from 768 to 3072 kbps, depending on the actual line's condition.
But this offer is subject to a technical check. Unfortunately such checks are performed some days after you have placed a concrete order. If the check fails, A1 will reject your order or will offer a slower variant. For the decision you are facing today this means: No risc, no fun.
Anyway, 8192 DOWN is ok and 16384 DOWN is even better. Many translators are (or have to be) content with 6000 DOWN. But Skype will not be very happy with 768 UP. See the tables on Skype's homepage.

I've been living in Austria for many many years, and I find it hard to believe that a part of Graz, the second largest city in the country, has a phone line that can't provide a good internet connection. I live out in the country and have an excellent link. My son lived in Graz for many years and never had a problem. Austria is reasonabyl well advanced in terms of its internet and phone connections. | | | Martina Rotondi Австрия Local time: 20:33 немецкий => итальянский + ... Автор темы

House or appartment? | Apr 23, 2015 |
Will you live in a house or an appartment?
Normally in a house it's no problem to install a satellite. That's what specialists are selling where I am because other connexions can be rather bad here. In an appartment the problem can be that it is not allowed because if everyone has its satellite on the balcony or in front of the window this does not look nice.
In my case Skype is not always happy with standard DSL which can be a problem if you do training via Skype... So... See more Will you live in a house or an appartment?

Hi Rolf! This link is very useful!I've checked my street and it's "orange".
I've probably solved the problem with the connection by talking with the owner, it seems it may be the chance to get DSL with UPC!!
Thank you very much for your help!!

I'm amazed it's so bad in parts of the city. Not a recommendation for an area that boasts teh status of a technology cluster! | | | Страниц в теме: < [1 2] | На этом форуме нет отдельного модератора.
