Agency work approval Автор темы: Jessie Nelson

Hello,
I hope I have placed this in the correct forum.
I am going out on a limb a bit, but what the heck, I will take a chance.
I was approached online by an agency to work with them.
Passed the test given, and then received no less than 15 requests for small to medium projects, with very short deadlines. It was in the last 2 weeks of July , if that is pertinent.

I received very little feedback on the work, except for one message from a QM. It was a middling type of message. Not terrible. There were one or two requests for clarification.
For 4 days now, I have received no requests.
Does this mean my work was unsatisfactory to them?
Is it acceptable to ask what happened? I will say all of their work had short deadlines. While I dont mind an occassional quick turn around, its disconcerting to be barraged constantly.
I have worked with other agencies, who have been pleased with my work.
There was a small change from time to time. But I was sent more work from them, so I know they liked what I did.
I appreciate your thoughts.
Regards,

I don't see a problem with asking, but don't count on getting a response. They may or may not have lots of work in your combination. They may or may not want to tell you that.
Now that you have some idea as to what you can expect from them, you can use that information to assist you in making a decision about what kind of priority you want to give work from them. | | | Susanna Garcia Local time: 16:37 итальянский => английский + ... Jessie, based on the above paragraph, I think I can see the problem.

and if I were you I would quietly remove the 2nd sample translation you have on your profile and also format your CV properly.
The real test when you work for an agency is not the first one you do, it is the ability to produce quality translations time and time again. I think the agency has taken its work elsewhere.
Edited for a typo - hope it makes you feel better, Jessie. We all make typos as you may ... See more and if I were you I would quietly remove the 2nd sample translation you have on your profile and also format your CV properly.

Hello and thank you for your responses.
I just received 2 new assignments, so I am still on their list.
I have, however, taken your words into consideration.

On marketing point of view, I recommend asking the customer again. You deserve it since you carefully did what requested by the customer. And you want to develop further job relationship. In case the customer ignores your questions, your potential toward this type of job may not be realized.
The customer who does not take serious of translators is not valuable to contact again, I think.
Best regards,

In my (long) experience, feedback from agencies is fairly rare. No comment from an agency doesn't necessarily mean they didn't like your work. You'll probably hear soon enough if they weren't pleased. The fact that they have now sent you further orders seems to demonstrate that they were happy enough.
Best wishes,
