Hi! From my personal experience subtitling means "Written Interpretation". I say this because in subtitling you use many short sentences and paraphrasing. In translation you try to be correct in every word.

It´s concise translation and also time match - taking into consideration all the dimensions that limit the reading of the text by the beholder of the audiovisual experience.

The dimensions to consider would be: time and space.

You also should be critic enough to see the video and put yourself on the eye of the beholder to find out if the final outcome will be understood, while taking into consideration the whole experience.
