I have been working as a freelance translator for some time now, and I find that there are agencies that pay for jobs in the following month, others in 60 days. I think this happens to many of us.
What agencies do you know that pay on a 30-day (next month) basis? Can you help me?

All my 10-15 regular-ish customers, except one, pay within 30 days. The odd man out pays within 6-8 weeks.
Some of them pay within 2 weeks.
They're all based in EU / Northern Europe.
I've only seen 60-day payment terms in the translation industry. That says something about it, not sure what.

At least I had several clients who paid 60 days after the invoice.
I also have several clients who pay 45 days after the invoice, who insist on being invoiced at the end of the month. In the extreme it could mean payment deferred by over 70 days.
In fact it doesn't bother me too much, I would much rather work with a client who pays after a month or two, than for one who pays inconsistently and every month makes me wonder when I may expect to be paid.

If we have regular work, after a difficult month or two the invoiced we have already issued turn into a steady stream of money, even if it is deferred a bit. ▲ Collapse
