Translators are, by the nature of their work and experience, linguists, technicians, researchers, scientists, writers, consultants and scholars - with or without formal training. So, if clients want a super qualified translator, they should also know that it does not come cheap. College and continuing education are expensive, and translators, by experience alone, are sometimes as qualified as any diploma bearing technician, college graduate or expert of any given field of knowledge or trade.

Considerando la importancia de encaminarse hacia un campo específico dentro de la traducción y en este caso, la traducción médica, puntualmente de prospectos de medicamentos; es fundamental valerse de las herramientas apropiadas para lograrlo. Tenemos gran responsabilidad en la elección de cada palabra y de los recursos de los que vamos a valernos. Para ello sugiero una especial atención a los pasos a seguir al enfrentar una traducción médica, los cuales generalmente se dan naturalmente, pero puede resultar interesante detenerse a estudiar con más hincapié.
