In AE... ... "booking office" is not used, or at least is not common. I think it's what the British call the place in a train station where you can buy or change tickets. In the USA, it is a ticket office (or window, counter).
nata alex (asker) Apr 7, 2014:
А в чем разница между 'booking office' и 'ticket office' ?
Rachel Douglas Apr 5, 2014:
Or, more traditionally... ... a ticket window. It's definitely still a ticket window at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, South Station in Boston, Penn Station in NYC (though they also call the whole bank of windows the ticket office), and the Amtrak stations in Syracuse, NY and Harpers Ferry, WV, to mention train stations I've been in lately. Union Station in Washington, DC has counters instead of windows now.
eduard_ Apr 5, 2014:
Trust me, it's a ticket counter, well at least in North America.
Igor Kondrashkin Apr 4, 2014:
Возможно. Но нужен контекст.
Alexander Grabowski Apr 4, 2014:
Здесь скорее booking office

Unused tickets may be returned at the ticket window/counter/office

In AE it's still a "ticket window" in most railroad stations, even though counters have become more frequent in recent years.

An impersonal construction is more appropriate than the second person.

Often "returned for a refund" or "returned for credit" will be specified, but if there are various options, just "returned" is OK.
