See more This thread stems from another one, Askers should wait 24 hours before grading or transfer the grading rights to the community, in which a new feature implemented in KudoZ was announced and discussed. The whole thread can be read here; please post general comments on this feature there. The aim of the present thread is much more restricted: to gauge the general interest in one component of this implementation, offered as as option. This new implementation offers two choices to the asker who tries to close a question less than 24 hours after posting it: a) Wait until 24 hours have passed to grade the question b) Select the preferred term, but leave the closing decision – and awarding of points – to the entire community. So, my question is: If you are the asker, would you ever chose option b) for your own question? (Arguments about the utility of this option for others’ questions were mentioned in the other thread – here I would like to get answers concerning your own questions.) If your answer is yes, please give a brief explanation under what circumstances you would choose this option. I would appreciate if long answers analyzing details of the issue were posted in the other thread, to keep the detailed discussion in one place. Kind regards, Attila ▲ Collapse | | |

Jerzy Czopik wrote: Who is the community and what ability does it have? Well, this really sounds out of time in today's society Jerzy. Our personality, our rights, our dreams, our freedom as individuals get more and more diluted in the communities in which we live, both online and in the real world. Today very few people are even aware of the fact that we are not free to choose in almost anything. Well, we can of course choose our brand of yoghourt! Great! Sorry folks. I could not stop myself.
