So now each segment on the right side is one segment higher than its match on the right side.
That's right, I translated and saved the file, opened it in Word and noticed the entire thing is scrambled, reopened it in WordFast only to see that every segment on the right side is one segment higher than it should be according to the original on the left.

How could this have happened? I've been using WFP for more than 3 years and I've never seen this before. There are 1000 segments and I don't have time to shift them all down manually. I need to lower everything on the right by exactly one segment.
There must be some kind of fix for this. Please limit yourself to answering only if:
1. You are familiar with the problem and have a direct route to a solution.
2. You are from WordFast staff.
Please refrain from commenting otherwise.
Thanks!

I fixed it. But I'd still like to know what happened, so if you have any insight please share.

I haven't encountered the problem and am not Wordfast staff, but I AM a user, and it would be very useful to know how to fix this problem should it occur - without having to wait for a staff member to be available.

Since I do not satisfy your requirements I did refrain from commenting, but now you've got me curious, how did you solve the problem? Maybe your trick is better than mine! | | | Jonathan Norris Мексика Local time: 14:54 Член ProZ.com c 2009 испанский => английский + ... Автор темы
When all else fails, what can you count on? You!
The solution was technically simple, but time consuming in my case since the file contained lots of figures that I had to skip over.
First, I had to resave the original as a different name so WordFast wouldn't recognize it when loaded and insert the misaligned translation.

After loading the TM, the last step was to click through each segment picking up from the TM until it was done. Luckily the TM maintained its integrity, though at one point I thought even the TM had gotten jumbled in the mix. E voila!
Still don't understand the cause, so my question stands to anyone from WF cares to venture an explanation as to how the two columns could disalign themselves, or what I accidentally bumped to do it. Thanks again in advance, hope this helps! ▲ Collapse
Hi Jonathan,
Which version of WFP are you using?

So basically you re-translated the file (under a new name), using the existing TM. I think instead of manually clicking through each segment you could have told WFP to automatically translate all segments that are 100% matches.
However, if your original description was accurate, i.e. the segments were all misaligned by one row, then my solution would have been to use WFP's bilingual review feature to export the translation to a table in MS Word. You can then fix the alignment using one action (move the one column up or down one row). Then import the table back into WFP, as you would normally do with the bilingual review feature.

2.2.4 is almost antediluvian. What could possibly be the reason for using it in 2014? | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Wordfast disaligned my file Pastey | Your smart companion app
