Urgent! WFP not retrieving matches from TM Автор темы: LEXpert

WFP is not retrieving (automatically leveraging?) matches for previously translated reps and is not populating the target segment with a match like it normally does. I initially pre-translated the file from the current TM, which populated the target with either an existing TM match or (in most cases) it just copied the source. As I translate, I am confirming and moving to the next segment with alt+down. When I run into a segment identical to one previously translated, WFP simply acts as if there... I really need to this work, otherwise I am looking at an all-nighter if I have to scroll back and forth find and copy what I translated before, or retranslate the reps manually.
I know it's late, but anybody have any ideas? Please? It is very frustrating when a CAT tool refuses to do the very thing it's designed to do. That said, Wordfast usually works fine and I have no idea what's causing this bizarre behavior.
Thanks,

A Wordfast Pro TM is made of 3-4 files: the TM itself (with a .txt extension) and auxiliary/backup files (.jtx, .lock, .bak). Close Wordfast Pro and try deleting all auxiliary files, keeping only the .txt file. Wordfast Pro will recreate them the next time you access the TM. Hopefully this will solve your problem. | | | LEXpert США Local time: 10:26 Член ProZ.com c 2008 хорватский => английский + ... Автор темы @Dominique - Thank you! | Nov 22, 2012 |
Thank you for this suggestion, Dominique. I did have to plow ahead and get it done before receiving any responses (I know, when things go wrong the timing is never good!), and I did manage to leverage some of the segments with alt+space, though the results were still spotty. Afterwards I created test copies of the files and used them to try your suggestion for deleting the auxiliary files, and that time everything did appear to work normally.
Good to know for next time!

If a TM fails to serve matches (whether 100% or fuzzy), it's usually because there's a problem with its index (for instance, Wordfast couldn't use it because some other program had exclusive access to it). Deleting the index usually solves the problem, because Wordfast can recreate a properly working index.
You should be careful when using software like Dropbox, which need exclusive access to the files they synchronize. My advice: don't copy Wordfast TM's to a Dropbox folder. | |

Hmmm, hoped deleting jtx and lock files would work but it didn't. | Sep 15, 2016 |
Hmmm, hoped deleting jtx and lock files would work but it didn't. Ever since I upgraded to Wordfast Pro 3.4.7 the matches from the TM (for example, the fuzzy ones) are not being inserted into the target window. To make it clearer, when I move down the rows, and a row is coming up which has, for example, a 99% match for it in the TM, once I get into that row, the match is not populated into target text, thought it IS displayed in the TM Lookup section. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Urgent!
