Copy placeables in Wordfast Pro

Hello,

in the Wordfast Pro Menu bar there is a symbol for "copy placeable", the arrow downwards.
But somehow ist does not work - no matter what I mark or choose, the placeables which look like this: {ut1} are not copied in the target language boxes.
Of course I can copy the whole source text and translate around the placeables - but when Wordfast inserts the text automatically because there is an internal repetition, the target text comes without the placeables.

Hi Silke,

Is the placeable in red? Have you navigated with "previous placeable"/"next placeable" arrow? Have you tried the keyboard shorcuts?

Dear Marcelina,
yes I have - I can mark the placeable so that it is read - and then I press the arrow downwards in teh menu bar, or I try the keyboard shortcut ctrl-alt-down, and still it does not copy itself into the target text box.
Even less I know how to copy them if the text inserts itself automatically in case of a match...

you need to place the kursor in the target segment in the place where you need the tag to be copied, and only then press the arrow.

Thank you, that works at least with the segments in which I write the text myself.
When the next 100% match segment comes, I will try and copy them too and see if this also works.

Unable to copy placeables Jan 16, 2013

Hello everybody, I am working with WordFast 3, I was able to copy the placeables just fine, shortcuts and manually. Just today all the placeables became red when selected and I'm not able to copy them anymore. They used to turn orange when selected and I was able to copy them just fine. The target language box is selected, all the same as before. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!
