term search Автор темы: John Farebrother

Hi everyone
today when I tried to search for some terms in the Proz databases, each result produced the complete list of entries for the language pair. Must be a bug, hopefully someone will sort it out soon.

I think my RU>EN problem must have infected other language pairs... This sounds like my problem, too. I noticed it within the past few weeks, not sure exactly when.
When I try to search Russian > English for a term (in Cyrillic), it comes up with tens of thousands of hits (e.g., 28,732) which are useless. it's not entirely consistent, I think. But definitely a recent (and annoying) development.

Updated from February: It's May 5, 2011 and the search problem persists. Now I'm in Snow Leopard Mac OS 10.6.7 (instead of Tiger 10.4.11) and Safari 5.0.5.
What's going on? It used to work fine for Russian.

In case this helps anyone with the same problem, since it doesn't seem to be getting fixed very fast:
The only way I know to avoid the problem is to try to search outside ProZ, in Google: use the term (in Cyrillic) plus proz or kudoz as the search strings.

Hello,
Site staff is aware of the problem with the term search, but it may take some time until it is fixed. I apologize for this.
I just wanted to say that a better way to search KudoZ using Google would be to make a search like this one:
(the term you are searching for)+site:proz.com
If you do that search, only ProZ.com pages will be searched. If you limit the search to proz.com/kudoz, only KudoZ questions will be searched.
