Well, people in Europe are used to high gas prices, just to console you. Today I paid 1.21 Euros/liter for Diesel fuel, gasoline was 1.29 Euros/liter...

Even if cheaper than that, you wouldn't go that far, that fast with a full tank in Tehran these days Mr. Moosavi. Boast about the gas prices in there in forums with no member familiar with Tehran traffic.

Meanwhile, we have EUR 1.45 for gasoline here. I am thinking of selling my car.

It has been suggested (apparently the idea originated in France) that drivers fill their tanks at any station but a BP or Shell station. BP and Shell, being possibly the two biggest producers in the world, might then lower their prices and even with a bit of luck precipitate a price war. Consumer power lives!

Yes, we should not fill our tanks with Shell or BP. But, whatever we do, they will find another way to tax us and make us pay for it.
In North America, it's really difficult to do anything without using your car. Yet, I heard that SUVs sales were lower by 20 %.
This crisis has a good point, though. I was visiting the Columbian Icefield a few weeks ago and the guide was saying that if we went on polluting the way we do, most glaciers would be gone in about a century.

When I came back to France for holidays last year, the liter cost 1 euro 21 already! So, I think it must be much higher by now.
