Je viens de me voir proposer 60 minutes de transcription à 0.5 €/minute d'audio. J'aimerais savoir si ce tarif est acceptable, n'ayant jamais facturé à la minute.

Some crafty translation agencies try to dupe translators into thinking they're being asked to do transcription when in fact the agency is expecting to receive the text in a second language. That's a different job -- in fact it's two jobs! Unless the audio is a very simple general conversation, it really isn't wise to rely on your ability to listen in (say) English and type the corresponding text in (say) French. Even if you did do that, it would take considerably longer than listening and typing in the same language -- which is essentially an audio-typist's job.

Most transcription-plus-translation jobs need to be done in two distinct stages:
1) Transcription, which is often charged on a "per audio minute" basis. The correct rate can't be estimated until random samples have been heard. If there's a recording equipment failure, a road drill starts up, or an argument gets heated with everyone clamouring to be heard, the time needed is going to get longer. If the client wants to see the same-language transcript, you then need to proofread it, paying attention to the spelling, punctuation, etc.
2) Translation, normally charged per source word. Of course, the word count is only known once the transcription has been done. If the client doesn't want to see the transcript, it's sometimes charged per target word. "Proofreading" in this case is more like "proof-listening" -- checking the audio in one language against the written text in a second language.

If the agency really does want a monolingual transcription, they'll try to tell you that it's "just an audio-typing job" and that audio typists don't get paid much. However, if they take an hour of a translator's time, they must be prepared to pay the translator's normal hourly rate. Just like you'd have to pay a lawyer a crazy amount if you insisted they personally make a photocopy of a long document rather than giving it to a clerk to do.
