I watched the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btf_mIIT4f0 (which has no audio for me) and tried checking the box for the Proz.com services, but that was already checked. I unchecked and checked the box, closed the software, re-imported the doc, etc. No success.
Any thoughts?
Also, I am running 10.5 version on Windows 10. Is there any way to upgrade to the most recent version of Cafe Tran?
Thanks,
Erin

Uninstall the old version and install the newest?

I thought of that but was hoping to avoid uninstalling and losing data for still ongoing projects.

For a while (during the pandemic), Cafetran was offered for free to paying ProZ members.
Since then, unlimited access is again offered only to ProZ Plus members.
So if you are a standard (non-Plus) ProZ paying member, it is normal you now don't have access to the unlimited version.

I'm experiencing what might be a similar issue: my Plus membership is set to renew soon and today, I've gotten pop-up notifications that I am using a trial version of CafeTran.
I had initially bought it under group buy and later connected it to my ProZ plus membership. | | | Create a ticket | May 3, 2024 |

Since yesterday I have the same issue. Then I could solve it by trying to log on via the mobile network – which usually works. But today I cannot get CafeTran working without getting the pop-up that tells me I must buy a license or use the free version with limited usability.

It happens quite often, actually. But now I cannot fix it. And this worries me.
It worries me because I'll be residing at a place in the next few months, where I'll depend on spotty mobile networks so internet reception won't be always be possible. I hope that won't mean I cannot use CafeTran half of the time, or drive several miles just to get CafeTran working...
Perhaps it is possible to have a system in place with a licence that has an expiration date on it for Plus Members?
My system info
CafeTran product information
Product version: CafeTran Espresso 11.1.1 - Blueberry Cheesecake
Operating system: Mac OS X version 12.7
Java version: 17.0.2 OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM on aarch64

Would it be possible for you to invest money in a license code? If you have a license code, you don't need access to the internet.
On the other hand, if I remember correctly: the polling of the server only takes place once a day, provided that you keep CafeTran Espresso running. I'm not sure about the energy saving mode. You can test that yourself, by deactivating Wi-Fi. | |

That is what I get today - my membership was renewed last week, all paid, since then I did not open CT because I was editing a big file. Today I wanted to start translating again - the programm does not let me. I get this message and when I go to the ProZ tab in CT and click on "connect to ProZ" it gives me a message that they are verifying if I am a human, I click, it says "verifying" for a while - than goes back to the same sentence. I tried several times, closed everything, restarted the laptop, no. I deleted CT, downloaded from the website - same problem.
As to the version: I have CafeTran 12 - the exe file from the download says 12.1.8.0. - but after installing it still says CafeTran 12. I removed all older versions, as far as I could find them.
Now I came here to see if somebody has resolved this problem.
My internet connection is very good, I don't think this is the problem. | | | Susanne Döring Иордания Local time: 00:15 Член ProZ.com c 2017 английский => немецкий + ...

Thanks for your help whoever read this and did something. Just now I got a connection - let's hope it will not break down or make problems again tomorrow. I did nothing further but what I described earlier in this thread (besides getting a support ticket), only tried time and again, and now they let me sign in again. Until two hours ago I never got the sign in mask, only the captcha time and again.

I get error messages from their website all the time. Messages about that in their Facebook group aren't approved.
I pay 180 USD per year for the Plus membership.
