Hi guys, HNY & MC)

Could you please tell me which *free* Office version (if any) can work fine with VBA? (supports add-ons like WF Classic)

TY

The only Office that includes VBA is Microsoft Office. Other office suites like OpenOffice, LibreOffice etc. may include a VBA-like scripting language, but it cannot be used to run VBA applications such as Wordfast Classic.

There is a special version of Microsoft Office (available for Office 2010 and 2013) called Office Starter sometimes preinstalled on some computers. However, it's a stripped-down version that does not include VBA.

If you do not want to pay for a Microsoft Office license, yet want to use a WFC-like CAT tool in a Word-like word processor, you can use Anaphraseus.

Understood, yet I seem to remember seeing some 'full VBA support' in a product... Perhaps, it was MS Office for Mac)

Office 2004 and 2011 include VBA, 2008 did not. VBA in Office 2004 was extremely slow; in Office 2011, it's more or less on par with the corresponding Windows versions. However, MS-Office for Mac is no more free than MS-Office for Windows.
