I have just finished a translation for Mario Bartolo and luckily I saw this forum. How very frustrating.

Mario Bortolo ([email protected]) contacted me for a 500€ translation. I asked for a purchase order or a signed and agreed version of my quote. He kept making up excuses of why he could not provide me with this document (in hospital/printer not working etc.). As time went by I started to worry that I would not meet the deadline for the translation... See more

As time went by I started to worry that I would not meet the deadline for the translation. I finished the translation and refused to give him the document without payment. He has now asked for my details to send me a cheque. What a big waste of time!

Can we not remove this person from the Proz board?

I think that this so-called ”Mario Bartollo” should have his own topic. It would be easier to spot.

This scam was reported by ProZ.com translators scam alerts center in the alert message sent on July 3, 2012. As valued ProZ.com members you can subscribe to these scam alert messages.

This scammer can't be removed "from the Proz board" because this is just a fantasy name used by criminals to steal from translators, and they are in no way related to ProZ.com.
