Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce the first ProZ.com translation mash-up, "Dust Bowl", a translation contest in three stages:


  1. Web stage: you are invited to propose your translation of the first part of the song "Dust Bowl" by Joe Bonamassa (in English) through the ProZ.com web and participate to become the winner in your language pair. Submission ends September 30, 2018, 23:00 GMT.

  2. Mobile stage: you will be invited to propose your translation of either the second part or the last part of the song through ProZ.com Mobile (no worries, the app is free!) Submission will start on Monday, October 8. Install or update the ProZ.com Mobile app →

  3. Social network stage: you will be invited to propose your translation of either the second part or the last part of the song through a social network and have the chance of winning a nice set of prizes. Submission will start right after app winners are announced. Stay tuned!


The timeline for this translation mash-up is:


  • September 25-30: Web submissions
  • October 1-7: Web finals / voting
  • October 8: Announcement of web winners

  • October 8-14: Mobile submissions
  • October 15-21: Mobile finals / voting
  • October 22: Announcement of mobile winners

  • October 22-28: Social network submissions
  • October 29: Social network drawing and announcement of winners
