Just got it from the News:
Canadian Liberals (current government) have spent 25 million dollars (Canadian though) to translate the Operation Manual for one of the fregates recently built.
The language pairs were not mentioned but it is impressive,eh?

Lexi-tech International translated some 185,000 new pages of documentation along with thousands of updates and revisions associated with a series of Patrol Frigates for the Canadian Navy. As part of the CPF effort, we also proposed, and eventually created, a complete collection of fully searchable, and fully hyperlinked compact discs. The document set comprises some 20+ compact discs in total. Each CD contained information about a specific supersystem associated with the ships (manuals, technical drawings, maintenance specs, etc). The navy uses these CD\'S on board the ships, where a huge volume of paper documents were replace by the electronic media thus saving valuable space on the ship and lifting over one ton of weight from the ship
