I grew up fluently bilingual with Russian and Hebrew. At a pre-school age, English was thrown into the mix, so by the time I moved to Canada, seventeen years ago, I was fully trilingual.
Since 2000 I've served as a translator and interpreter. My translation work included university course books, novels, plays and documents. My interpretation work occurred while I was employed in consular services for the U.S. Embassy and Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since moving to Canada, I've done translation work "on the side" as a freelancer while developing a full-time career in the recruitment industry. During my recruitment days (2008-2023) I was always everyone's go-to for writing and editing purposes.
Language and words are my first love. In addition to being everyone's go-to translator and editor (both at work and in my personal life) I also write. My blog, IAMTHEMILK, was published on Wordpress and received several awards of recognition through the Wordpress platform (by Wordpress' editorial team) and as a Voice of the Year (2013, 2017) at the BlogHer conference. My essays were also published in several anthologies (see link to Amazon author page on resume).
I look forward with excitement to collaborating with you through ProZ and bringing your text into life in a brand new language! |
