Hello,
I have been working with Wordfast Classic for years. I have recently installed Wordfast Pro. I managed to convert my .txt TMs to .tmx using WF Anywhere, and I was hoping to use the same .tmx in both Classic and Pro. Am I being unreasonable? Classic *should* support .tmx format according to the brief. However, Classic sees the converted .tmx files as empty - 0 TU. (WF Pro at least understands that they are not).

Xbench is now free, it can open WF TM and export it as TMX, very reliable.

Do you mean version 3.0? I cannot find any mention of a free version (other than the legacy version 2.9)...

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it with the free legacy version, but I can't for the life of me find where Xbench exported the TM. The user guide is of no help either. Xbench seems to be quite counter-intuitive when you have never worked with it before, so maybe I did something incorrectly. I got the message that export was successful, I just can't find it. There was never a prompt asking where it should exported and there is no folder with a name suggesting it was exported there. As a last resort, I initiated a computer-wide search for *.tmx files, but the converted TM was not among the search results.

Thank you. Some of the links no longer work but I was able to download WFconverter. What a beautifully simple and useful tool! Unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem, and Classic still sees the converted .tmx as empty (0 TUs) - I tried a different TM this time, in case my first TM was corrupted, but the problem doesn't seem to be in the TMs, but rather in WF Classic itself.

Control the encoding for input and output Tools/CAT. WFC has Unicode (UTF-16). Standard for TMX is UTF-8, but sometimes is UTF-16 (UTF-16LE, UTF-16BE). Export TMX file from CAT you want import TMX. Some errors in TMX can be repair by Heartsome TMX Editor.
