Does anyone know, please, if there is a way of disregarding formatting when a TU is stored in the TM?
I'm currently working on a set of documents that I have chained together and there are translation units that are exactly the same except for the formatting.
However, it seems that two otherwise identical TUs are stored as two separate TUs, which means that if I make a change to one TU, press Alt-Down/Alt-Up, the other does not get automatically changed and I have to g... See more

I know of no way, so the workaround for your problem would be to run a TransCheck on the file(s) and look for consistency errors. In my experience, TransCheck ignores formatting tags when comparing segments.
