I think I had Wordfast Classic in 2012 and was doing some personal translation projects. I am looking at starting again with Anywhere. Is it similar enough? Can I import previous files to the new platform?
Thanks

Molly, the idea behind CAT is very the same, so no worry. However, WFC is a standalone (offline) add-in working in the native MS Word environment, while standalone WF Pro 3/5 has its own interface, and WF Anywhere is a cloud (online) solution. Just check youtube and other sources to get the impression.
All options have their own benefits and drawbacks, so unless you're working with a non-NDA project via a fast and stable Internet connection, a browser-based CAT is ok. It's *FREE*, yet as far as I often work without WiFi/3G, I still prefer WFC.

Thank you. Yes, I hadn't thought of checking YouTube videos. It's been a while so I need to revise what all the different files mean. BAK etc. I tried dragging and dropping a file to Anywhere and it looked very different from what I remembered of Classic...

Classic for me

If I'm not mistaken, WF Anywhere is a cloud-based system and I'm anti-cloud. I like the interface of WFC too, and it does everything I need it to.

Yes, maybe I should just pay for the licence and go with what I know/knew before.
