Dear colleagues,

I use Wordfast PRO since a long time already but have been always disturbed by the fact that Wordfast split the work into segments only. As you know, the segments can be composed of just one little sentence paragraphs, a single word or heavy paragraphs of 6+ lines... so that I cannot control the number of words to be translated per day.

I use Wordfast PRO since a long time already but have been always disturbed by the fact that Wordfast split the work into segments only. As you know, the segments can be composed of just one little sentence paragraphs, a single word or heavy paragraphs of 6+ lines... so that I cannot control the number of words to be translated per day.

So, when I have for instance a long project of 20,000 words in a single document and want to split it under XXX number of words to be translated per day, to achieve my deadline in a balanced way and no surprises, I cannot! I can only divide my work by XXX segments per day, which gives a fake idea of how much work (in words) still have to be done seeing segments can be larger or smaller.

Does anybody have a solution for this, please?

Workaround with Word Mar 21, 2016

If you can open your document in Word, you could highlight sentences until you have the right number of words (number shows on the bottom of the document) you need to do per day, then find it in Wordfast and take a note of the number of the segment. Not a pretty solution, but it should work.
