Hi

I had no problem opening a power point file with Wordfast but some "non editable" words and tables don't appear once the power point is in the Wordfast format.

Is there a way to make them appear ?

Thanks
Ode

Are they embedded images? Oct 20, 2012

If they are embedded images, then no (at least not in my experience).

take the long approach Oct 20, 2012

save/print the ppt as pdf (or only the needed slides) and then:

1. use an OCR program (abbyy, omnipage, readiris) to get the text

OR

2. use wf_anywhere - I didn't get satisfactory results, but other people did

Best regards,
Dan

I don't really know, but it happens to me occasionally too (also with Excel) and not only with WF. Sometimes, for whatever reasons, some text boxes or "cells" do not "register" and when you get to the end of the translation and run the spell checker, the untranslated parts appear. So far this is the only way I have dealt with the problem - I fill in the untranslated text manually. Otherwise, the PDF conversion workaround mentioned above is an option, although it always seems too finicky and laborious to me.

PS: I've just acquired an OCR program (Omnipage) which my colleague says is very good for converting to and from PDF but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet.
