I seem to have WFP 3.1. I got only tmxl-files, so I cannot save the translated file, but is it possible to get some output of the translation for reading without tags?

WFP: Can I preview the completed translation in Word? Oct 19, 2012

My question is, I think, similar to Heinrich's:

I received a qsc.ttx file for translation. Now completed in WFP. The translated file is saved as qsc_EN-GB.ttx (which I cannot view).

I suspect that I have placed some tags (ut1, etc) in the wrong places in the target text or I should have deleted some.

I should like to view the translation without tags (= cleaned?) in Word to quality-check.
How , please?

Use the preview command Oct 19, 2012

To preview the files in Word just use the Preview in Word command that you should see in the ribbon, if not you can use Alt+W

To Clive: If you want to see if you have all tags use Transcheck, but if you want to check if all your tags are "on the right words/places" the Preview might not give you what you want unfortunately the "Preview in Word" option displays the text as a table with very little formating so if won't show you what the text will actually look like once format

'It won't show you what the target text will actually look like, once formatted'

Unfortunately that is precisely what I need to do - before 1330 GMT+1 deadline today!

MS Word Preview Oct 19, 2012

Dear Heinrich,

Similarly, for Preview MS Word, you should have the source document.

Still, if all what you need is to read in Word, you can use the Bilingual Review feature.

Dear Clive,

You will need to ask your client for the source Word document and to have (even the demo of) Trados 2007 to convert the file in TagEditor.

HTH,
Yasmin
