I'm not sure this is the right forum for my question, so, dear mods, feel free to re-post this somewhere else.

I would like to ask how you update your TM after your translation is proofread/edited. Do you insert each change manually in a text editor? There must be a better solution, surely.

update your TM Aug 8, 2012

Hello Diana,

If you have your translation proofread/edited by someone else, in my opinion, the easiest way would be to align the source file and the edited translation file and save the segments to your TM. In case of very few corrections, it would be quicker to simply open the bilingual file, introduce the changes and click "update TM", when cleaning the file up.

It depends on what Wf and what alignment tool we are talking about.

Good luck!

Bilingual review in Wordfast Pro 3.x Aug 8, 2012

Good remark! If Diana is talking about Wordfast Pro, she should perhaps consider the use of the new bilingual review of version 3.x. It provides an easy way to do the reviewing in Word and send any changes back to a TXML (with which it is easy to update the TM).

Great tip, Dominique! Aug 8, 2012

I haven't thought of that! Do you have an instruction video on that?

I used to work with Classic a lot, but now my preference has somehow changed and I'm using Pro on many jobs. But I'm not bothered about the version though, whichever has the easiest solution - that's the one I'll use for updating my TM!

See: http://wordfast.net/wiki/Bilingual_Review

The video was recorded in February, with an early version (beta) of Wordfast Pro 3.0. This is why the interface doesn't look exactly as in the final version, but the general idea remains the same.
