Analyse and Clean-up functions not working Автор темы: Nikki Graham

I use Wordfast Classic 6.01g, and the licence was renewed in June 2011. I have Microsoft Office Word 2003.
Whenever I analyse a document, the results across the board are 0, so I have no way of knowing whether there are any matches or not.
Wordfast will then let me translate as normal, and matches appear.
However, when I then come to clean the document, it looks as if it is doing it, but actually doesn't. At the moment, using the "QuickClean" option in Word... See more I use Wordfast Classic 6.01g, and the licence was renewed in June 2011. I have Microsoft Office Word 2003.

However, when I then come to clean the document, it looks as if it is doing it, but actually doesn't. At the moment, using the "QuickClean" option in Word (Tools - Macro - Macros - WFQuickClean) will clean the document for me, but obviously this situation is unsatisfactory and I would like to rectify it. Has this happened to anyone else? I would be grateful for any ideas.
Thank you!

This is strange, because 6.01g has been around for a long time now, so if basic functions like analyze or cleanup were broken, someone else would have reported it.
Maybe you have a corrupt VBA setup, or a corrupt normal.dot? Does this occur with all documents or only the particular document you are working on? Have you tried installing an older (5.92m) or a newer (6.02p) version, in order to see whether the same problem occur with other versions? | | | neilmac Испания Local time: 12:17 испанский => английский + ...

I had something similar happening a couple of weeks ago and eventually I just reinstalled it and it worked fine.
It looks like there are sometimes incompatibilities with other apps or programs using Visual Basic, but I'm no tech wizard so can't really help out there. | | | Nikki Graham Великобритания Local time: 11:17 испанский => английский Автор темы Thanks for your replies | Dec 9, 2011 |
Thank you. I'll try to re-install.
It's happening on all documents (originally in Word and PDF conversions into Word), and yes, it is very strange because it was all working fine for nearly six months.
I am not very tech-minded, I'm afraid, so excuse ignorant questions: how would I know if I had a corrupt VBA set-up? and how could I fix this?
Thanks,

Uninstalling & reinstalling Office should fix VBA corruption | Dec 9, 2011 |

It's very difficult to establish your VBA setup is corrupt, even if you are a tech-minded person. The symptoms you are describing (a function that plain doesn't work on your system, while it is known to work on most systems) can give a clue.
Uninstalling & reinstalling Office should fix such a problem. | | | Nikki Graham Великобритания Local time: 11:17 испанский => английский Автор темы Upgrade Microsoft Office? | Dec 9, 2011 |
Perhaps I should take this opportunity to upgrade to the newest Office suite, but I have read that Wordfast is a bit buggy with later versions. Do you know if this is true or should I just go ahead and not worry...
Thanks again! | | | Wordfast Classic doesn't really care about Office versions | Dec 9, 2011 |

Wordfast Classic will work just as well on a clean Word 2003 setup or on a clean Word 2010 setup. There are some adjustements you will need to make, because of differences in the interface of Office 2010 vs. 2003, but basic Wordfast functions will work the same.
If you were used to "marching red ants", you need to know these are no longer available in Word 2010 (but you can use one of the other untranslatable attributes).
If the 2nd toolbar in Word 2010 fails to be installed, you can add it manually via the following workaround: http://www.wordfast.net/?kb=185-21
Also make sure you do not install the "click-to-run" version of Office 2010 (see http://www.wordfast.net/?kb=156-27 for details). | | | Nikki Graham Великобритания Local time: 11:17 испанский => английский Автор темы Have reinstalled Wordfast | Dec 15, 2011 |
Reinstalling Wordfast seems to have solved the problem for the moment.
