Hello,
I've been using Wordfast Pro, the latest version for Mac (MacBook Pro) for few months, until recently when I tried to open a file (in word) that got stuck. Wordfast doesn't open since then, it freezes at the opening stage trying to open the same document all over again. I tried to uninstall Wordfast from my Mac by deleting all the wf files, including the software itself. When I download a new version, the same thing happens again and the new version freezes at the same place. Is the

Is there a way to get rid of Wordfast completely and start all over again with a brand new and clean version?
Thanks for your help, which would be greatly appreciated!

Step 2: Trashing .wf_workspace and re-installing:

1- You can find the .wf_workspace folder under the following path:

Users/(whatever is your user name)/

2- Trash .wf_workspace. (If you need your glossaries, open the "glossaries" folder and copy the txt files to a safe location so that you can Import them later.)

3- Find any Wordfast instances or files and trash them also.

4- Re-install Wordfast Pro.

HTH,
Yasmin

For me too Jan 3, 2012

Hi,

It worked for me too.

I had the exact problem described by Isabelle. And I founded that it was connected (I suppose) to some filters who were missing (tipically .doc, .ppt filters...). But I did not find how to restore them (I tried "restore defaults" too in Preferences, and nothing happens).
So the easyest way was to uninstall-reinstall all WF Pro, but I was facing the uninstallation Mac problem, wihch is now solved, thanks (once again) to Yasmin.

For the missing filters, is this a reported problem ? I was thinking that I made a mistake and losted them, but now I see that somebody else had the same problem, maybe connected to the same missing filters, who knows if this is not some bug ?

Yours,
