Речь идет о вкладышах в обувь, похожих на половину стельки (доходит до несколько менее чем до половины ступни), очень удобно, когда обувь одного размера вам мала, а следующий размер уже велик! Вы покупаете обувь большего размера, вкладываете его в обувь и проблема решена! В Италии продаются повсюду, жаль, что в России их я не встречала. Называются "полустелька", но функция другая, поэтому лучше бы перевести "вкладыш".
