Can someone please translate the title of this contract, and if possible explain what it refers to?
"Договор о долевом участии в жилищном строительстве"
The concept of share-holdings for housing construction does not mean a great deal to me, so if you could either explain a little bit what this means or direct me to somewhere that does explain it then I would be most grateful. A decent translation of the above title would be very welcome too, since perhaps it is my poor translation initially which has caused me some confusion.

this is a form of contract between the Developer and an individual or company (co-investor) when they conclude agreement on the following terms and conditions:
Developer undertakes to build apartments and transfer it into the co-investor's posession;
co-investor undertakes to pay for the apartments to be built (as a rule this is one-time payment within several days after signing the agreement, but there can be variations, as payment by installments, etc)

I don't know the context of your translation but a Google search turned up this Kazakhstani law. The second web reference is to new construction investment homes which, on a cursory read, seems to match the situation in your agreement. It depends how literal you want/need your translation to be. If you need to be quite literal about it, then you could go for one of the options suggested above. Otherwise, I'd try to include the concept of "investment".
