Aus Pommes-Frites-Fett wird Ökostrom
Wer sich im Bereich der erneuerbare Energien engagiert, ist immer auf der Suche nach Innovationen. Diese aber selbst zu entwickeln, ist eine ganz besondere Herausforderung.
Dass Theorie und Praxis bei uns eng miteinander verbunden sind, haben wir schon bei zahlreichen Gelegenheiten unter Beweis gestellt. Eines unserer Pilotprojekte war der Betrieb eines Pflanzenölmotors, der je 770 KW elektrische und thermische Energie erzeugte.
Die Pflanzenölanlage, die mittlerweile nach Belgien verkauft wurde, leistet dort nun gute Dienste. Das gewonnene Know-How, das mit dem Betrieb einer solchen Anlage einhergeht, kam insbesondere unseren Ingenieuren zu Gute, die europaweit schon mehrere Großanlagen von 1-18 MWel eingerichtet haben. Somit konnte unsere Anlage hier als „Feldversuch“ verstanden werden und diente als Vorbild.
Der Motor, der normalerweise in Schiffen installiert wird, lief in speziell auf die Anforderungen angepasster Weise hier in Langenbach und produzierte sauberen, grünen Strom.
Dieser konnte ins lokale Stromnetz eingespeist werden und wurde nach EEG (Erneuerbare Energien Gesetz) vergütet. Die entstehende Wärme kann auf verschiedene Weise genutzt werden, z.B. zur Trocknung von Spänen für die Holzpelletproduktion.
Die Verwertung von nicht umgeestertem, gebrauchten Pflänzenöl und Tierfetten bietet verschiedene Vorteile. Neben der Tatsache, dass bei der Verbrennung im Verglich zu fossilen Brennstoffen CO2 eingespart wird, bleibt außerdem ein weiterer Energieaufwand zum Umestern aus. Darüber hinaus ist der Kraftstoff nahezu schwefelfrei und hat einen hohen Flammpunkt.
Eine ähnliche Anlage läuft mittlerweile in unserem Pelletwerk in Oberhonnefeld. Ein großer Erfahrungsschatz hat dabei ein reibungsloses Engineering und eine erfolgreiche Inbetriebnahme ermöglicht. Somit haben sich auch in diesem Fall wieder einmal Aufwand, Engagement und Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung gelohnt.

Green electricity from chip fat oil
Those engaged in the renewable energy sector are always on the lookout for innovation. To develop these yourself however, is a very special challenge.
Time and time again, we have proved that theory and practical experience are closely intertwined here. One of our pilot projects was the operation of a vegetable oil motor, which produced 770 KW of both electrical and thermal energy.
This vegetable oil equipment, which is now being sold in Belgium, is serving our customers well. The technical know-how gained from the operation of such equipment was especially beneficial to our engineers, who have constructed several large-scale plants from 1-18 MWel across Europe. Our plant here could therefore be seen as a “field test” and served as a prototype.
The motor, which is normally installed in ships, was operated in a manner specially adapted to the specifications here in Langenbach, Germany and produced clean, green electricity.
It was fed into the local energy grid and was recompensed according to the Renewable Energies Law in Germany. The resulting heat can be used in various ways, for example for drying wood shavings for wood pellet production.
The use of non-transesterified, used vegetable oils and animal fats offers various advantages. Aside from the fact that burning this oil saves CO2 emissions compared to the combustion of fossil fuels, the energy normally required for transesterification is spared. What’s more, the fuel is practically free of sulphur and has a high flashpoint.
Similar equipment is now operating in our pellet plant in Oberhonnefeld, Germany. A wealth of experience allowed for a smooth engineering process and successful implementation. In this case as well, effort, commitment and investment in research and development paid off.

Source text - German Zwischen der Spedition XXX und dem Auftraggeber besteht ein Vertrag zur Durchführung der nationalen und europäischen Beschaffungslogistik. Die für den Auftragnehmer zuständige Niederlassung wird sich umgehend mit dem Auftragnehmer wegen der Abwicklungsmodalitäten und der Erfragung des Ansprechpartners mit dessen Kommunikationsanschlüssen in Verbindung setzen.
Zwecks Vermeidung von Mehrkosten und als Grundlage und Voraussetzung für einen reibungslosen Ablauf des geplanten beschaffungslogistischen Systems, sind durch den Auftragnehmer folgende Punkte zu beachten:
Sendungsübernahme
Die Übernahme durch XXX erfolgt während der Geschäftszeiten des Auftragnehmers. Sofern durch den Auftragnehmer verursachte Verzögerungen auftreten, gehen eventuell entstehende Mehrkosten zu dessen Lasten.
Andere Abwicklungsmodalitäten wie die Gestellung von Ladehilfsmitteln, Transportgestellen etc. sind direkt zwischen Auftragnehmer und XXX zu vereinbaren.
Translation - English A contract regarding the execution of national and European procurement logistics exists between the haulier XXX and the principal. The branch office responsible for the agent will promptly contact the said party regarding the terms of transaction and to determine the contact person and his/her contact details.
In order to avoid additional costs and as a requirement for the smooth development of the planned procurement logistics system, the following points shall be observed by the agent:
Package transfer
Transfers with XXX shall take place during the agent’s business hours. When delays are caused by the agent, the said party will be liable for possible additional costs incurred.
Other terms of transaction such as the provision of loading aids, transport racks, etc. shall be directly arranged between the agent and XXX.
