This is given in Websters for the abbreviation JD. It is probably being used humorously to mean "badly behaved".

: Sounds quite plausible. My first thought was doctor of jurisprudence (which is abbreviated JD), but that certainly wouldn't fit here...

Is is j.d. or g.d.
Don't know why the book would abbreviate juvenile delinquent, so I'm wondering if it is g.d., which some people say in place of "God damned", his god damned friend Charlie Hogan. Just a thought.
