De momentane belasting op een constructie is de belasting die op een bepaald moment vrijwel zeker op een constructie aanwezig is. Het gaat hier om een veranderlijke belasting.
De momentane combinatie van belastingen is opgebouwd uit:
- Permanente belastingen zoals het eigen gewicht en de rustende belasting
- de momentane variabele belasting.
Om de momentane variabele belasting op een constructie te bepalen wordt deze variabele belasting vermenigvuldigd met een momentaanfactor ψ. Deze momentaanfactor kan voor verschillende belastingen verschillende waarden hebben. Zo is de momentaanfactor voor sneeuwbelasting gelijk aan 0,0, maar voor het belastinggeval variabele belasting in een kantoorgebouw 0,5.
