I am a dual British/ Finnish national working as a freelance translator. I focus on translating between Finnish, English and French. I am passionate about translating and I have been completing projects for various companies. I also have experience in using different programmes, including Subtitle Edit and Ooona Translation Manager. My most recent projects include creating Finnish subtitles for English and French films that will be released on Netflix.

My Master’s Degree in English Philology, which covered linguistics and literature, was completed at the University of Helsinki. I also studied Translation, French Philology, Education and Area Studies with my final thesis researching immigrant students in EFL education. These studies have provided me with an excellent and highly respectable academic background.

Building on my educational qualifications, I have developed my academic competence in different educational settings. For the last five years in Panama, I have been working as a Primary school coordinator, grade leader and teacher. In this position I have been responsible for translating various documents between English and Spanish. I have also had to recruit, manage, observe and support teachers, as well as engage with parents.

‘Internationalism’ has been a cornerstone of my career. Having dual British/Finnish nationality, being taught at the Helsinki French School, I have travelled and worked extensively. This has developed a good work ethic and enhanced my teamwork skills with the ability to deal with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
