L’homme au pourpoint argenté désignait un garçon aux yeux moqueurs. L’enfant se faufilait déjà dans la foule, une bourse volée à la main.
La haine se lisait sur le visage du vieux lieutenant.
Apparemment, ce n’était pas la première fois que ces deux-là se rencontraient.
Le nombre de gardes à la poursuite du garnement devenait inquiétant. Le temps n’était plus à la plaisanterie. Ouïe-fine cavalait, les dents serrées et le torse bombé. Son agilité lui permettait d’avancer rapidement dans les ruelles étroites de la cité blanche. Son regard trahissait sa détermination à s’échapper.
La lumière aveuglante se réfléchissait sur les murs des maisons et ne laissait nul coin sombre où se cacher.
Le chenapan tourna à l’angle d’une boulangerie et poussa une grille qui donnait sur la cour intérieure d’un bel hôtel particulier. Il s’engouffra par une porte latérale puis attendit un instant que ses yeux s’habituent à l’obscurité. Le bruit des pas de ses poursuivants s’était approché puis éloigné, jusqu’à disparaître complètement.
Attiré par des cliquetis métalliques et deux voix rieuses, le garçon avança jusqu’au bout du couloir de service où il poussa délicatement une porte de bois rustique.

Although Algerian women played a key role in the war for independence from France, which lasted from 1954 to 1962, the battle for gender equality has long been overshadowed by the nationalist struggle. Since 1962, government officials have formally acknowledged women’s central role
in the construction of an independent nation. However, very few grassroots feminist organizations developed in the 1960s and 1970s. Even former female combatants in the independence struggle often argued that
nationalist objectives were more pressing than the elimination of gender discrimination..
The National Liberation Front (FLN), which led the independence movement and remains the ruling party in Algeria, was largely ambivalent on gender issues. The socialist aspects of its ideology advocated women’s equality, but more conservative strains within the movement viewed women as the vessels of Islamic and traditional values. In the two decades following independence, groups that supported divergent political projects clashed over personal status issues, and their failure to reach a consensus thwarted various attempts to codify family law.
In 1981, an extremely conservative draft family law was vehemently rejected by a grassroots movement of women from different professional backgrounds, including university professors, schoolteachers, medical doctors, and laborers. They came together to organize petitions and demonstrate against the proposed legislation. Under this pressure, the government retracted the 1981 draft, but on June 9, 1984, a very similar code was passed without public debate.

بالرغم من آن المرأة الجزائرية لعبت دورا هاما أيبان الثورة التحريرية من فرنسا و التي دامت من سنة 1954 إلى 1962 حيث كان النضال الوطني قد غطى على النضال من اجل المساواة بين الجنسين. مند 1962 تم الاعتراف من قبل المسئولون الحكوميون بدور المرأة في بناء دولة مستقلة إلا أن لم يكن إلا القليل من التنظيمات النسوية التي عرفت الازدهار بين 1960-1970 حيث أن حتى مجاهدات الثورة التحريرية يرون إن المصلحة الوطنية أولى من مسالة القضاء على التميز الجنسي .
حزب جبهة التحرير الوطني الذي قاد الثورة التحريرية و ما زاله الحزب الحاكم في الجزائر , لا يزال مترددا فيما يتعلق بقضية المساواة بين الجنسين حيث ان الحزب من الجانب الاجتماعي يدعو إلى المساواة بين الرجل والمرأة و لكن العديد من الجهات المحافظة داخل الحزب صنفت المرأة كإناء تحفظ فيه القيم التقليدية و الدينية. بعد عشريتين من الاستقلال كان هناك أطراف ساندت برامج سياسية مختلفة و التي اصطدمت بقضايا الأحوال الشخصية مما أدى إلى عجزهم في الوصول إلى إجماع والذي احبط العديد من المحاولات التي سعت إلى تدوين قانون الأسرة.
في 1981 تم عرض مسودة قانون أسرة جد متطرف و الذي تم رفضه بشدة من طرف منضمات نسائية تتكون من بروفسورات و أساتذة و طبيبات و موظفات اجتمعن لتنظيم عريضات و ليتظاهرن ضد التشريع القانوني المقترح. تحت هذا الضغط قامت الحكومة بسحب مسودة القانون التي تم عرضها في 1981 و لكن في جوان 1984 تم تمرير قانون مشابه بدون أي نقاش شعبي.

Bio
Born in Tizi ouzou, Algeria, I grew up speaking Arabic and french. I began my studies in english language at the University of Algiers, from which I graduated with a Bachelor degree in 2011. In 2012, I joined the embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algeria, where i worked for three years, as administrative assistant, translator. After 3 years at the embassy of the Republic of Korea, I moved aboard to France, to study translation at the university of Lorraine. After two years, I graduated with a Masters degree in translation English, French, Arabic.
During my studies, I had many work experiences along with my studies. In 2017, I translated a novel for a House editing in the city of Nancy, from French into English, as well as two other fairy tales from French into Arabic.
Since July, 2017, I work as Oral translator, during the civic training days organized by the French Office of Immigration and Integration.
